Don’t mistake Sabor in Bethany Beach for your typical Mexican restaurant. You will find the standards—including authentic dishes such as pistole—but you’ll also find Salvadoran and Spanish dishes. Owners Jim and Lynn Rickards, owners of nearby Perucci’s Classic Italian Restaurant in Millville, opened in July with a warm welcome from neighbors who appreciate a little something different, like red snapper Vera Cruz, sopa de lima (lime soup), and chile con carne made with bison. The guacamole is mixed tableside, the tortillas are made on the premises, and the bar stocks 27 tequilas, which the mixologists blend with fresh juice of pomegranates or tamarind and hibiscus flowers to make novel margaritas.
