15-Plus St. Patrick’s Day Dining Specials and Events Across the First State

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little differently this year with socially distanced events and incredible dining specials around Delaware.

With the luck of the Irish, Delaware is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this year.

While annual parades and other large events are postponed due to COVID-19, there are still multiple events and food specials across the First State during the month of March for the holiday.

Bethany Blues, Lewes Location
Dustin Showers will perform at the Lewes location on March 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. All Bethany Blues locations will be having some great St. Patrick’s Day drink specials such as $5 Guinness cans, $7 car bombs, $6 Irish crushes and $3 Jameson shots. Bethany Blues is also offering to-go drink specials which are $5 Guinness cans in a 4 pack for $18, $6 Irish crushes in a 4 pack for $20, and $6 Jameson DBL shots.

Catherine Rooney’s and Trolley TAP House

These two popular Trolley Square restaurants have teamed up to create a Dining on Delaware St. Patrick’s Day weekend event with live Irish music. On March 12, watch the O’Rourke’s perform live at 6 p.m. On March 13, enjoy live music from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. On March 14, the Malarkey Brothers will perform at 12 p.m, and the Galway Guild will be on stage at 5 p.m. Other performance acts include the McAleer-Paulson School of Irish Dance and the Whiskey Trail Band.

Deer Park Tavern
The tavern will be serving green beer, $6 car bombs, corned beef and cabbage, Irish nachos, and ham and cabbage soup on March 17.

Get yourself in the St. Patty’s Day spirit with some classic Irish tunes. The Part Time Manager will be performing at Dogfish Head Brewpub on March 17 at 7 p.m. Enjoy a lively set of old Irish drinking songs, jigs and polkas.

Get Lucky 5k
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by signing up for the Get Lucky 5k in Newark. The race begins at 9 a.m. on March 14 and will be held at Canal Little League. There is a $29 sign-up fee, which includes a free pair of fusion racing socks. Runners are encouraged to wear their favorite green shirt for this St. Patrick’s Day-themed race. After the race, runners are welcome to go to the Stone Balloon Ale House in Newark for a pint and some shepherd’s pie made by Chef Robbie Jester.

Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen 
Enjoy Irish-themed menu specials and drinks the week of St. Patrick’s Day. Starting on March 15, the Newark location will offer St. Patty’s Day-themed green Irish crushes complete with a lime shamrock garnish. Grain will also be serving up some other drink specials including Irish car bombs, Irish maidens and a Thin Mint Martini. For food specials, enjoy traditional Shepherd’s Pie and Irish potato soup.

Sweet Cakes Supplies will host a St. Patty’s Day cupcake decorating party at Harvest Ridge Winery on March 14 at 1p.m. Tickets cost $35 and will include four delicious cupcakes, decorating supplies and a glass of wine or cider.

Home Grown Cafe
This Irish feast features over 40 whiskies, six of them being Irish, a lunch special with a delicious Ruben sandwich, corned beef and rye bread. Expect a New England boiled dinner featuring house-corned beef, cabbage, new potatoes, rutabaga, baby carrots and house-made Jameson mustard.

Milton Shamrock Shenanigans Stand-Up Comedy Show
Hosted by Missy Hall at the Milton Theatre, join headliner comedian Peggy O’Leary for a night full of Irish humor on March 26 at 8 p.m. Peggy O’Leary is a regular at Punch Line Philly, a popular stand-up comedy venue in Philadelphia. She will be joined by Mike Adams, who is also a Philadelphia-based comedian. Tickets are $13.

The Everafter and Shelley the Irish fiddle player will perform at Mulligans on March 17 at 8 p.m. This group will be performing some St. Patty’s Day tunes to get you in the Irish spirit.

Rehoboth Ale House
Dine at the Rehoboth Ale House for some St. Patrick’s Day drink and food specials. The restaurant will feature $6 Jameson, $5 16-ounce Guinness drafts and green giveaways on March 17 from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Honey Shine will perform live on the Rehoboth Ale House stage from 8 to 11 p.m.

If you are in the mood for a traditional Irish breakfast on St. Patty’s Day, head over to this Smyrna pub. Starting at 9 a.m, Sheridan’s will be serving breakfast until 11 a.m. on March 17. The first 50 customers will receive a free T-shirt, and there will be special St. Patrick’s Day giveaways throughout the day.
