Looking to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Delaware this year? Here are five bars in Newark offering St. Patrick’s Day specials.

St. Patrick’s Day has been celebrated in the United States since 1600. Quite quickly St. Patrick’s Day in the US has developed from a religious event to a celebration of Irish Americans with an emphasis on good eats and drinking. The holiday has its national hotspots around the country including Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington D.C., but even in Delaware there’s fun to be had.

Here are 5 bars and restaurants in Newark offering drink specials on St. Patrick’s Day, all within walking distance from each other, making for a fantastic and safe holiday bar crawl.

Iron Hill Brewery

Iron Hill Brewery is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a grand selection of Irish inspired dishes like Shepherd’s Pie, Irish beef stew and fried cheese curds. The brewery will also be bringing out their craft made O’Sullivan Stout and Big Sully Stout’s, both rich Irish stouts served over nitrogen, as well as an Irish cold brew cocktail made with cold brew coffee and Jameson.

Klondike Kate’s

Right across the street from Iron Hill, Klondike Kates will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with live music and specials on domestic pints and cans and pitchers, Guinness pints, shots and mixed drinks.

Home Grown Café

While Home Grown isn’t putting on any St. Patrick’s Day specific specials, the holiday just so happens to land on Home Grown’s special night. Homegrown will have $2 margaritas and sangrias as well as sales on certain food items on St. Patrick’s Day.
