The third annual Bacon Fest will take place April 23 in Dewey and April 24 in Rehoboth. It’s the second year that both towns have joined forces to find out which restaurant can lay claim to bacon supremacy.
Justin Redefer, the owner of iDewey and founder of Bacon Fest, said this year’s Bacon Fest will have about 700 guests.
“Different restaurants participate every year, so the food always changes,” Redefer said. “The guests are excited—they don’t know what’s coming.”
The crown of Best Bacon on the Beach, an overall award given to the best bacon creation out of Rehoboth and Dewey combined, has belonged to The Starboard. The Dewey-based bar and restaurant bested Rehoboth’s Salt Air and Dewey’s Baked, which both took home the smaller prize for their respective towns.
Redefer said 700 two-day passes will be available for the fest—half for VIP tickets and half for general admission tickets. VIP tickets, which include an hour-earlier entry, are $45, and general admission tickets are $35. Single day passes will be sold for $20. All ages are welcome.
