Monday, January 17: Rehoboth’s Henlopen City Oyster House has scored rave reviews for not only its oysters, but its beer selection. Of its six rotating draft selections, there’s usually one or two from Delmar’s own Evolution Craft Brewing Company. Tonight, the restaurant will pull a total of five Evolution brews for its first beer dinner. Chef Bill Clifton will pair each beer with a delicious food course. The whole shebang runs just $45 per person, plus gratuity.

Saturday, January 22: More Evolution love. (Geez, these guys must be popular.) On Saturday night, the brewers will hit the Cordrey Center in Millsboro along with Matt Haley’s Plate Catering for a four-course beer dinner.
Let’s Talk about Beer! (Not to be confused with this) kicks off Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Cordrey Center, which is located at the East Coast Garden Center in Millsboro. Saturday, January 22: NCAA March Madness is a weeks-long holiday to a lot of sports fans. I’m one of them. But what if you substituted the college basketball teams with craft beers? Instant improvement, that’s what.
Starting this weekend, Wilmington’s Veritas Wine and Spirits will begin its first Craft Beer Madness, a free, winter-long tasting event.
Based on sales, popularity, and style of beer, Veritas staff will rank craft beers from 1 to 64 and place them in a bracket-style tournament. Then through a series of all-day blind beer tastings and customer votes, beers will be eliminated until there is only one left standing. Here’s the hitch: Veritas won’t reveal the names of the beers until the end of the tournament.
Saturday marks the first of two preliminary rounds, where 32 beers will be up for judgment. The finals will be held April 9. Stop by any time of day to taste and vote. Expect hot dogs and veggie-dogs to nosh, and college b-ball on TV.
