Its famous beer dinners are coming this month to the newest 2SP in Kennett. Six courses will be paired with six craft beers for $75 per person (including gratuity), beginning Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m. Here’s the menu. Start with Lake Erie steelhead gravlax with Concord grape caviar, smoked pears and apple-fennel crema over micro mustard greens. Continue with croquettes for dipping in Old Bay fondue with pommes purée and jumbo lump crab. Step 3: pork cheeks braised in Yards beer with broccoli rabe, aged provolone, roasted sesame seeds and liscio romesco. The stars: pan-seared venison loin with Quaker oats risotto, roasted beets, Kennett mushroom ragout, shoofly gastrique and scrapple salt, as well as dry-aged Pittsburgh rib eye with pickled baby vegetables, tomato confit, Gruyere emulsion, gaufrette potato and pastrami spice. The 16th of every month will be a special night, with one of 16 Mile’s brews being infused several different ways. Cuckoo for Cocoa
Calling all chocoholics. Hundreds of chocolate treats—cakes, brownies, candies, cookies and cupcakes—will be available for tasting during the Kennett Chocolate Festival on Feb. 9 to benefit the United Way of Southern Chester County. Bring family and friends, then sample all you want—for a mere $5. Contestants will vie for ribbons in these categories: professionals, amateurs and students. Don’t miss the fun.
