Where to Find Fried Chicken in Delaware

Bird is the word.

Fried chicken never goes out of style. Even the National Restaurant Association declared it the No. 1 perennial food we crave in its What’s Hot 2016 culinary forecast. We know that Royal Farms, Walt’s Chicken Express in Wilmington and Kick n’ Chicken in Lewes and Millsboro have awesome fried poultry, but don’t miss out on some of these other places around the state. L&G Southern Soul Food in Buena Vista Shopping Center (317-319 S. DuPont Hwy., New Castle, 322-7774) is a family-owned business that uses handed-down recipes for its lip-smackin’ chicken. In Wilmington, 8th & Union Kitchen (801 N. Union St., 654-9780) turns its buttermilk fried chicken into a sandwich with a honey glaze, aïoli and pickles. Jam Bistro (21 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach, 226-5266) does a great rendition of fried chicken ’n’ waffles. And on Tuesdays, Cottage Café (33034 Coastal Hwy., Bethany Beach, 539-8710) has a four-piece fried chicken dinner special.
