Where’s the Beef?

A culinary competition last month brought together some of the state’s top steak houses.

If you missed the Delaware Small Business Chamber’s Beefsteak Dinner on Oct. 25, don’t worry: We’ve got all the juicy details.

1776 Steakhouse served marinated lollipop lamb chops, filet with caramelized onions and black ravioli. Steak & Main Restaurant presented a veal chop with a peppercorn demi, filet mignon with truffle butter and asparagus wrapped in mozzarella and prosciutto. Walter’s Steakhouse prepared a lamb loin chop, a slow-roasted java-rubbed sirloin and root-vegetable mashed potatoes.

The winner of the dinner’s best chop was 1776 Steakhouse, which also won the Top Choice Award for the night. The Best Steak Dish award went to Steak & Main.

The event raised money for the DSBC’s Small Business Grant Fund, which awards qualified small businesses with a one-time grant (ranging from $100 to $1,000) to help them grow.
