If practicing Dryuary made you more sober curious, consider Wilderton Aperitivo Co.’s new Bittersweet and Citrus nonalcoholic products for spritz lovers. Wilderton is on the cutting edge of the movement; the Oregon company opened the country’s first nonalcoholic distillery producing small-batch, botanical-based aperitivo beverages.

Bittersweet boasts flavors of orange, grapefruit, cardamom, and Turkey rhubarb root, while Citrus has blood orange, yuzu, lemon, tangerine, and saffron. Serve 2 parts of either with 3 parts club soda and ice. Garnish with an orange slice.

Wilderton also offers Lustre, a blend of orange, tarragon, and lavender, as well as Earthen, a spicy mix that complements ginger ale.

The aperitivos are ideal for those who want flavor without alcohol. However, any nonalcoholic spirit that mimics the real deal can trigger a recovering alcoholic. Serve with awareness.
