Wilmington shoppers, rejoice! ALDI, one of America’s fastest growing retailers, will open its first Northern Wilmington location this week on Concord Pike.
“We’re excited to open our first store in Wilmington and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping,” says Bob Grammer, the vice president at ALDI. “Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier.”

The company prides itself on its commitment to providing fresh food at the lowest possible prices. Shoppers also love the exclusive ALDI products that make up 90% of the store offerings.

Beyond groceries, shoppers appreciate ALDI’s sustainability efforts. The company works to lower greenhouse gas emissions, reduce food and operational waste and improve packaging.
Along with opening a Wilmington location, the company is also donating $1,000 to the Food Bank of Delaware. This donation is part of ALDI’s ongoing efforts to contribute $150,000 to Feeding America and its affiliates throughout 2024. In addition, the store has a history of collaborating with local food banks to distribute excess groceries to those in need. Last year, ALDI donated 33 million pounds of food to Feeding America partners.
Wilmington’s ALDI Grand Opening Celebration
As part of its grand opening celebration on December 5 at 9 a.m., the store is offering exclusive promotions, including gift bags for the first 100 customers filled with ALDI Fan Favorites and gift cards. From December 5 to December 8, customers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card.
The store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. following the grand opening. Shoppers in Wilmington can also take advantage of ALDI’s online shopping options, including curbside pickup and delivery, making it even more convenient to access affordable groceries.
