It seems like we blinked, and the summer season is soon coming to a close. Try not to focus on the fact that many shops already have Halloween décor for sale and that Christmas is barely four months away; relish in the remainder of summer at these outdoor events.

Saturday, Aug. 24
Delaware Seashore State Park Third Annual Paddlefest
Enjoy 4 miles of marsh creeks to paddle through (with park interpreters stationed along the way to talk about points of interest) plus a shorter kids/family course and an official after party. The party will take place at the Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum, will be complete with food trucks, live music, kids’ activities and various vendors and exhibitors. Tuesday, Aug. 27, and Wednesday, Aug. 28
Sunset Kayak Trips
Hosted by Delmarva Board Sport Adventures, guests can take in a warm summer breeze as the sun sets over the Rehoboth Bay. The trip includes a lesson, a guide, pictures and all necessary gear (parking fees and gratuities not included). Launch time may vary depending on sunset time. Tickets can be purchased here.

Sailing Nature Tours
Sit back and enjoy the sun and the breeze as your skipper sails you through the beautiful back bays of the Delaware coast. The cruise will take you past a bird rookery and along the wooded shoreline of a state wildlife area while you learn about the many different species of shore birds and other wildlife. The cruise lasts about two hours and tickets are $60 per person an $50 for children between the ages of 7-11.

Friday, Aug. 30
Rehoboth Beach Bandstand Concert
If you haven’t made the time to catch a performance at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, now is the time to do it. Enjoy music from The Fabulous Hubcaps, who will perform hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s. The band has been Inducted into the Southern Legends Performing Arts Hall of Fame, the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame and was named the 2015 Vocal Group of the Year by the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame. The free show begins at 8 p.m.
