Throughout Delaware, beer gardens have all but become synonymous with summer. Making the most of the state’s rich craft brewing culture and bucolic landscapes, there are now an abundance of great spots to check out, whether gathering with coworkers, friends or family. From rooftop hangouts to riverfront venues, here are some of our favorite local beer gardens.
Delaware’s biggest beer garden is back with a new axe-throwing venue. Enjoy craft beers, a selection of snacks and sandwiches, plus yard games like corn-hole and giant Jenga at this gorgeous waterfront space. Constitution Yards is open Tuesday through Sunday with extended hours during the weekend.

Headed to the beach this summer? Swing by Crooked Hammock’s outdoor beer garden for a bit of unwinding. Sip some of the brewery’s new beers and enjoy a backyard-inspired menu every Friday through Sunday.

Located in Garrett Snuff Mill in Yorklyn, this family-owned microbrewery debuted its summer beer garden earlier this season, complete with picnic tables and four permanent taps, making it the perfect spot to shoot the breeze.

Nature lovers can sip brews against a beautiful backdrop at this conservation center. On select days throughout the summer, Mt. Cuba will host Brandywine Valley breweries like Dew Point Brewing Company, Wilmington Brew Works and Liquid Alchemy Beverages, plus food trucks and local musicians for its Twilight on the Terrace events. The family-friendly evenings kick off at 5 p.m. on June 21, July 19, Aug. 16 and Sept. 6.

This popular Rehoboth Beach brewery is bringing its beer garden back to the Town of Whitehall in Middletown this summer. Look for 10 brews at two different venues—Whitehall, plus a second location at Hudson Fields, which has both indoor and outdoor seating. Both also feature live music and lawn games and are open Friday through Sunday.

Open every Saturday and Sunday, this beer garden features sustenance from a different local food truck every week along with Midnight Oil’s own craft beers. As an added bonus, the brewery regularly partners with local charities to donate a portion of proceeds so you can feel even better about imbibing.
