27th Annual Chocolate Festival
What: Local businesses share delectable desserts with the public and compete for top honors. Proceeds benefit Harry K Foundation, which feeds hungry children through in-school food pantries, a backpack program and a baby pantry. Tickets prices, based on the time of day, run from $20 to $30 for adults.

11th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
What: Featured performers include The Durning String Band and The Hit the Bottle Boys. Activities also include the Leprechaun 5K, which starts at 11 a.m.

What: Forget Memorial Day: For many Dewey Beach regulars, this event signifies the start of the season. Given that the opening coincides this year with St. Patrick’s Day, you can expect a memorable party.

Eighth Annual Milford St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl
What: Hosted by the nonprofit Downtown Milford, the Milford Pub Crawl route takes participants past local merchants hosting local breweries, wineries and distilleries in their shops. It also flows by pubs, taverns, bars and restaurants. This year you can hop on a bus to hit uptown locations, too.

Second Annual Rehoboth Jewish Film Festival
What: The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the Seaside Jewish Community have teamed up to present 10 films over five days. (There are no films shown on Friday night or Saturday afternoon.)

Fifth Annual Teller Wine Expo
What: Sample international cuisine and 100 wines at the area’s newest cultural attraction. The event will include live and silent auctions. Order wines by the case at a discount. Tickets are $75; a portion of sales will benefit the Lewes History Museum.

50th Annual Great Delaware Kite Festival
What: Sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation, this beloved event is a Good Friday tradition. Bring your own kite or make one on site. Arrive by 11 a.m. for the Easter Egg Hunt. Park fees apply.
