The new hot spot in Sussex this summer? It has to be the deck of the new Abbott’s on Broad Creek in Laurel. You’ll love the stunning view of the creek, you’ll love the happy hour, and you’ll love the food, which is exactly what you’d expect from the original Abbott’s Grill in Milford—with some minor differences: When creating specials chef Wes Books of Milford veers toward the Italian; Chef Ryan Cunningham tends toward the French. Beyond that, expect the same core menu items and signature dishes such as fried calamari in spicy brown butter. Abbott’s is chef-owner Kevin Reading’s fifth venture in Delaware since he opened the Fox Point Grill in Wilmington 20 years ago.
