Popular television series American Pickers is coming to Delaware. The show is looking for antique collectors to star in an upcoming episode of the show on the History Channel.
If you have a sizable collection or accumulation of antiques that the pickers can spend the day looking through, contact the show via email at americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 646-493-2184.
American Pickers is a documentary series that explores the world of “picking” or searching for valuable antiques in large collections. The show’s team seeks to find diamonds in the rough at junkyards, antique stores and personal collections throughout the United States.
The show features lifelong picker Mike Wolfe, who is known as a top forager nationally. In his bio, he explains that “a picker’s kind of like a nomad.”
Mike’s brother, Robbie Wolfe, is also on the show. In his bio, Robbie says he finds “joy in restoring what once was a part of someone else’s life story.”
Running the business office is Danielle Colby. She oversees the stores, searches for untapped locations for “picking” and keeps everyone in line.
Often, the professional pickers on the show hear amazing stories from owners of large collections. They have picked through old barns, chicken houses and roadside collections.
They hope to find and give historically significant items a new lease on life while learning about America along the way.
The show launched in 2010 and has enjoyed 23 seasons since. The pickers consider themselves antique archeologists as they search for amazing things buried in people’s garages and barns.
As far as the antiques go, the items featured on the show have often have been sitting on a shelf gathering dusts for years, if not decades. The pickers find them, dust them off and see the dollar signs in the item’s worth.
The show has led to spin-offs, including Aussie Pickers, which then turned into Road to Riches on A&E Australia in 2019.
