DelMarVa Board Sport Adventures this year opened a second location in the Shoppes of Camelot, across from Ruby Tuesday on Del. 1 (19470 Coastal Hwy. No. 5, Rehoboth Beach; 260-9008, delmarvaboardsportadventures.com). “This is a SUP lifestyle shop,” says co-owner Janis Markopoulos. (SUP stands for Stand-Up Paddleboard.) “We offer rentals, excursions, lessons and try-before-you-buy sales.”
The new location allows the company to serve Milton, Lewes, Rehoboth and Dewey, while the Fenwick Island site continues to target that area, as well as Ocean City. DelMarVa is expanding its Night SUP, which takes paddlers out to the water at night on specialty boards outfitted with lights, so you can see what lies beneath.
Rehoboth Beach Running Shoes in February moved from its Lake Avenue location to the Shops at the Pearl (301 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth; 227-4848, runrb.com). “There was a space opening and we thought it would be fun and exciting to be over there,” says owner Mary Beth Evans. Starbucks ensures a lot of walk-in traffic.
The seven-year-old company sells running shoes and clothes as well as triathlon gear. Evans says walkers can also buy running shoes. You might consider starting a shopping expedition here. Given all the new stores at the beach, you’ll be making tracks all over the coast.
