Brenda Goebel Denesowicz is celebrating 25 years of being an esthetician in Delaware. She offers skincare and waxing at The Bee Hive. With a loyal client base and a Best of Delaware award from 2008, it’s clear she’s established herself as a leading expert in her community. While the beauty aspect of her job is important, that’s not what it’s all about.
“I’ve been saying it for years,” Goebel Denesowicz says. “It’s not about the wax. It’s about connecting with my clients and educating them so that they can take better care of themselves inside and out.”
Goebel Denesowicz‘s work shows that her true passion is wellness. In 2018, she became certified as a clinical master herbalist, with a specialization in herbal consultations. She uses her Instagram account, @its_not_about_the_wax, to share skincare tips, product recommendations, and strategies for success as a small business owner. She also shares insights about wellness and mental health, encouraging readers to keep a positive outlook and practice self-love.

This passion for wellness finds its way into her day-to-day work as a waxing and skincare specialist, too.
“I’ve always started by asking new clients what kinds of foods and medications they were taking – and what was going on in their lives – before ever touching their skin,” she says. “Certain waxes and topical products can react with the things we put into our bodies, and even to how we’re feeling. Keeping an open dialogue helps me to better assess my clients’ skincare needs.”
Goebel Denesowicz’s loyal client base appreciates both her expertise and her authenticity. The Bee Hive is a safe space for anyone to come as they are – to just “BEE” themselves. Brenda’s gentle touch, larger-than-life glasses, and bubbly nature put her clients at ease.
“Everyone thinks they’re the hairiest person, or that they have the worst skin,” she notes. “But I’ve seen it all, and it really doesn’t matter. It’s all about what product or service makes you feel the most confident.”
