Reserve soon—very soon—for this special event: The Cape May-Lewes Ferry will host a Delaware Beer Flight Dinner at the Lewes Ferry Terminal on May 8. Enjoy a full-course dinner complete with Dogfish Head Brewing Company’s specially crafted selections inside the newly renovated passenger lounge of the Lewes Ferry Terminal. The cost for the all-inclusive dinner, which begins with the Chef’s Selection of Hors d’ oeuvres at 5:30 p.m., is $50 per person. “We’ve held a number of sold-out beer flight dinners in Cape May and received rave reviews,” says Joe Peltz, superintendent of food for the ferry. “Our customers really enjoyed these events and the discussions of the craft beer selections. We want to offer the same great experience to our Delaware customers. With Dogfish’s extensive selection of fine craft beers paired with tasty cuisine prepared by our talented chefs, this will be an event you definitely won’t want to miss.”
The Ferry Beer Flight dinners are beer’s equivalent to wine tastings. The Beer Flight Dinners showcase both the Lewes Terminal as a special event venue and they help promote the regional craft brewing industry. The gourmet four-course dinners feature the talents of award-winning resident chef Ingrid Dellatorre. On the Rocks in Lewes has been named one of Delaware’s Best for two years running, and the Lewes terminal kitchen was recently renovated to better serve special events and showcase chef Dellatorre’s talents. Festivities kick off with a reception that includes a chef’s selection of hors d’oeuvres with “cocktail” tastings of Dogfish Head Brewing Company’s Noble Rot. The reception will be followed by spicy gazpacho with shrimp and goat cheese crema paired with Dogfish’s Sixty One IPA. The salad course of arugula with orange segments, and caramelized pecans with coriander-infused lemon vinaigrette will be paired with Dogfish’s Namaste. And it just gets better from there. Due to limited capacity and anticipated popularity of the event, reservations are required. Call 1-800-643-3779.
