Catching Up with a Delaware Super-Delegate

One of the highlights so far for Lisa Goodman? A hug.

Delaware super-delegate Lisa Goodman expected to come to Philadelphia, meet Democrats from “all walks of life,” and hear from great leaders. So far, so good.

This is Goodman’s second convention, but she was still surprised at how moving the roll call vote was on Tuesday night.

“The joy is coming together at the end of the roll call when Senator Sanders moved to nominate Clinton,” Goodman said.

However, there are still delegates who believe Bernie Sanders should be the nominee. Goodman said that Colorado and Washington have been the most vocal—sometimes literally, as the Colorado delegates are night next to Delaware’s.

Monday was the worst in terms of protesting in the arena, she said, but each day it is getting progressively better. It was a tough defeat, she said, but still believes they will come around.

If nothing else, at least Goodman was able to meet with a senator from Wisconsin.

“I got a hug from Senator Tammy Baldwin at the LGBT caucus yesterday, and that was pretty darn fun,” Goodman said.
