DART’s “Stuff the Bus” Food Drive Starts November 6

DART's "Stuff the Bus" Thanksgiving Food Drive aims to collect 20 tons of nonperishable food to feed those suffering from food insecurity.

It’s that time of year again: people all over the country are reuniting with family and loved ones to take stock of all they have to be thankful for. It’s also a great time to think about giving back to those in your community struggling with things like food insecurity. In the spirit of giving, DART is kicking off its 26th annual “Stuff the Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The event will take place at collection sites throughout the state of Delaware beginning on November 6 and ending on November 11.

According to the CDC, a total of 12.6% of Delawareans are food insecure. “Stuff the Bus” aims to collect 20 tons of nonperishable food for those Delawareans ahead of Thanksgiving. With the public’s help, the organization collects tons of food each year in partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware. Through its 745 Hunger Relief Partners, the Food Bank of Delaware will disperse the donated food to those who need it most this time of year.
