On a Roll
Cozy Asnan Sushi Bar and Asian Cuisine doesn’t look like your typical sushi place—which is only fitting, since its sushi isn’t typical.
Blocky wooden tables and wing chairs evoke a parlor-like feeling. Mixed with modern lamps, stainless bar stools and prints of race horses on the wall, they give new meaning to the word eclectic. This all makes Asnan one of the coolest, quietly hippest places to share a bowl of edamame and a plate of lettuce wraps with friends.
The Asian cuisine part of the menu is limited to the aforementioned appetizers, chicken satay and rice plates (curries of chicken, beef and fish) and noodle soup. But you’re here for the sushi, which is gorgeous. The standard fish are represented, as are the favored rolls. Where Asnan distinguishes itself is signature rolls like The Atlantic Style Roll (salmon, softshell crab, asparagus, avocado and mango) and the Sakura Roll of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, fluke, red snapper and fish eggs.
