Delaware History: Slaughter Beach, 1934


Members of the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp 1223 at Slaughter Beach dig through marshland during winter. The CCC was a program under the New Deal that provided jobs for men ages 18 to 25. Its work focused on development and conservation of natural resources.
