executive director, Delaware Wild Lands
The natural diversity of Delaware’s landscape, tidal marshes and freshwater wetlands offers fantastic opportunities for outdoor recreation and wildlife observation. Some of the best wildlife viewing takes place on foot and by boat. The trails at Cape Henlopen State Park, combined with the Breakwater and Junction Trail, offer an enjoyable trip between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. A paddle through Trussum Pond in Sussex County is reminiscent of the wetlands and waterways of the Deep South.
