Designer Consigner swept the consignment clothing category in this year’s Best of Delaware contest, with its upstate and downstate locations earning the most readers’ votes.
Owner Michele Scott-Costa is looking forward to showing off the shops’ wares at the Best of Delaware party on Thursday at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to see what we have,” Scott-Costa says. “We’re excited.”
An upscale resale boutique, Designer Consigner offers customers gently used, high-end brands at discounted prices. Scott-Costa carries designer labels such as Chanel, Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton, but also stocks popular brands like Banana Republic and J. Crew. Designer Consigner has locations in Hockessin and Rehoboth Beach.
Scott-Costa says her booth at the Best of Delaware party will be handing out gold crowns and top hats with “Best of Delaware” printed on them. The crown idea came from the Best of Delaware logo, she says. The booth will also offer a drawing for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.
The shop owner is excited about having a presence at the party, but also hopes to get around to some of the winning restaurants’ booths.
“We’ve been to the party as patrons,” she says. “We love the food, the band—everything.”
