Dining at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, Delaware

A Mid-state Mecca

The way Dover Downs Hotel & Casino has grown, you can find as great a variety of restaurants there as in the whole city. Michele’s has long enjoyed a fine reputation for delicious steaks and seafood, the Italian food at Frankie’s was a hit right out of the box, and Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House covered the raw bar department. Add to those a few lesser-known places: The Deli, which offers super-sized sandwiches made with premium cold cuts; Sweet Perks and Sweet Perks Too for specialty coffees and panini; the Garden Café and Winner’s Circle Restaurant for delicious homestyle food; and The Festival Buffet, which offers chicken and ribs, roasted meats, Italian and Asian fare, and Grotto pizza during lunch and dinner, as well as all your breakfast favorites in the morning. Taken together, you never need to leave the premises to find another great meal—and you’ll never get bored. Add to that wines at less than $25 a bottle, and you get not only variety, but bargains as well. “My favorite?” says George Fiorile, vice president and manager for hotel operations. “With my heritage, I’d be in trouble if I didn’t say Frankie’s.”
