1. Killens Pond Waterpark
Through September 1
The waterpark at Killens Pond is a summertime gem for families in the First State. There’s plenty of waterpark fun for all ages. A baby pool with small frog slides and ground fountains and a “Tot Lot” with spray fountains, a pipe waterfall, and tunnel slide are perfect entertainment for the little ones. Meanwhile, four large waterslides and the main pool offer thrills for older kids. Entry is $8 per person under 48″ and $10 per person 48″ and over.

2. Blueberry, Flower, and Peach Picking at Fifer’s
Through late August
Produce picking is a great outdoor activity for kids to learn all about the food they eat and where it comes from. At Fifer’s, blueberry season starts in the spring and continues through the early summer. Peach season starts in July, along with sunflower and zinnia season. While at the farm, kids can also enjoy activity areas and sweet treats from the Farm Kitchen.

3. Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Festival
June 28
This quintessential summer festival is a great way to kick off the season in Delaware. Tickets are just $5, and all kids under 12 get in for free. This summer festival is packed with activities for kids and families, including carnival games, museum tours, family-friendly entertainment, a kids DJ, food trucks, and all the best local ice cream to sample. For the adults, enjoy a beer and wine garden with plenty of craft sips. The day concludes with a fireworks show at dusk.

5. Nick’s Mini Golf
All Summer
Mini golf is a fun summer activity for kids and the whole family. Nick’s Mini Golf has three locations in Delaware and one right on the border of Fenwick Island in Ocean City, MD. The Fenwick location is coming soon with exciting course updates. In Rehoboth Beach, Jurassic mini golf is an 18-hole indoor/outdoor course with an exciting dinosaur theme complete with animatronics and arcade games. In Dewey Beach, Nick’s is the only mini golf course in town. Bethany’s 18-hole course also features dinosaurs and a volcano.

7. Brandywine Zoo
All Summer
The Brandywine Zoo offers plenty of fun programming for kids throughout the summer season. The Little Nature Explorers series allows children ages two through five and their guardians to make discoveries outdoors together. On Thursday mornings throughout the summer, Storytime at the Zoo is perfect for preschool children and includes a fun activity. Daily admission is $9 for adults and $7 for children under 18, and infants and toddlers get in free. Enjoy animal encounters and more programming for all ages throughout the season.

8. Funland & The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk

The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is packed full of fun summer activities for kids. Funland is a must-stop destination for weekend fun with the little ones. Enjoy rides, games, and old-fashioned carnival fun right on the Rehoboth Boardwalk. 9. Jungle Jim’s River Safari Waterpark
Through September 1
If you’re looking for a variety of summer activities for the kids to enjoy all in one place, Jungle Jim’s Waterpark in Rehoboth Beach is a great option. Enjoy waterpark thrills, mini golf, and batting cages at this massive park. All-day passes for adults are $50 and $35 for children under 42″ tall. Children under the age of two are free.

10. Have a Beach Day!

A day at the beach is free fun for the whole family. The Lewes beach is great for families with young children, with smaller crowds and calmer waters than the beaches further South. Rehoboth offers classic boardwalk fun, and the southernmost beaches like Fenwick Island and South Bethany offer a slightly lighter crowd than Rehoboth and Dewey. Regardless of which beach you choose, pack a picnic, grab the sunscreen, and enjoy a day by the ocean.
