Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club is looking for a hero. Is it you?

Do you know a hero, the kind of person who swept his or her intended off her feet while making the world a better place, despite their own hardships? If so, the good people at Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club in Newark want to hear about it.

Delaware Bride is pleased to support Deerfield’s efforts to provide a free Hero’s Wedding to a service person who recently returned from duty overseas, a police officer, a firefighter or emergency medical technician, or anyone who serves the community tirelessly. The worthiest will be provided with dinner and bar service at Deerfield, as well as invitations, flowers, dresses, tuxedoes, and photography, all graciously donated by local vendors.

Deerfield’s Jeffrey Robinson, director of sales for the club, was inspired by the “Extreme Makeover” television show. “I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could do the same kind of thing for someone who is really, really deserving.’” He had no trouble finding vendor partners.

If you would like to nominate someone, go to www.deerfieldgolfclub.com or write to Deerfield at 507 Thompson Station Road, Newark, DE 19711.

Deadline is March 6 at 5 p.m. The winner will be announced March 19.

Thanks to all the vendors—and, of course, to our hero.
