The New Normal

Often in the darkness of tragedy, the light of humanity casts a silver lining. We remember the tens of thousands of volunteers who rallied in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy and the California wildfires. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re witnessing myriad sacrifices from so many Delawareans, including healthcare professionals on the front lines, grocery and pharmacy clerks managing endless lineups, farmworkers, postal staff, waste collectors and the daycare providers who look after the children of these essential employees.

We are indebted to all of these folks, as well as to our local government officials who have risen to the occasion to protect our communities with stay-at-home orders to keep us all safe. As we look forward to celebrating at the other side—sometime this summer, fingers crossed!—we continue to take each day in stride, hopefully with a sense of humor and newfound appreciation for one another as we find our own silver linings.

Keep on staying #302Strong.
