Great Bars to Watch Football at the Beach

One of the best things about the fall is—no—not pumpkin spiced lattes, folks—it’s football. And no matter who you choose to root for, you need a place with plenty of TVs, a variety of beers and some finger foods. Here are a few of our favorite places to pull up a stool and settle in for a game at the beach.

Bethany Blues

Every Sunday beginning at noon the Bethany Beach location releases its Sunday NFL Bites menu. Choose from an array of appetizers that range in price from $3, $6 or $9. Drink specials include Shock Top or Goose Island pints for $5, White Claws for $3, Crushes for $5 and more.

Coastal Taproom

People are mourning the loss of the enduring Gray Hare Tavern, located at Route 24 and Coastal Hwy., but the local watering hole has a new name and owner and will open on Thursday, Sept. 26. Lincoln Rogerson, the former owner of Big Chill Surf Cantina, is in charge, which boasts over a dozen beers on tap, wine on tap, drink specials, live music, pool, shuffleboard, a ping pong table and 17 TVs.

Dewey Beach Country Club

Enjoy happy hour from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and an appealing menu that ranges from nachos to a juicy brisket sandwich. Burgers are half-price on Mondays, perfect for Monday night football fans.

The Greene Turtle

Grotto Pizza

You can’t go wrong grabbing the game at Grotto (the buttery, complimentary popcorn is a nice draw). With plenty of TVs, big beer specials and a game day menu available at many of the locations, you will leave content even if your team gets crushed.
