Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant Serves Up Bacon Madness in March

Pair delicious smoky bacon goodness with college basketball action and house-brewed beers, and win.

While sports fans are frantically watching March Madness, the gang at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant will be going a little crazy, too, with Bacon Madness. From March 20 through March 23, the Newark and Wilmington locations will prepare and serve a variety of bacon-infused appetizers, entrées and, yes, desserts. Dishes have been created by the head chef at each location, so they will vary by location. Look for treats like Keystone Cannibal—a baked potato stuffed with scrapple, Yukon gold hash and sharp cheddar, then topped with sour cream and hot chow chow (at Newark) and crispy-seared pork belly with cheddar-laced grits, braised mustard greens, molasses barbeque glaze and brown sugar-chile dusted potato (in Wilmington). The other eight Iron Hills in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will have their own offerings, should you find yourself out of town. “March Madness inspires fanatical devotion, and so does bacon, so we thought, why not combine them?’” says chef Dan Bethard. “With Bacon Madness, our guests get the best of both worlds: a fun atmosphere to watch all the college basketball action while enjoying all the delicious smoky bacon goodness they can eat, with our house-brewed beers as the ultimate bonus to wash it all down.” In addition, Iron Hill Wilmington will host Six Degrees of Bacon on March 19, a six-course meal, with beer pairings, for $75 per person.
