Letters, Tweets & Emails to Delaware Today Magazine in Wilmington: Why Women Earn Less Than Men…Still, 18 Super Singles, Reverend Dale Dunning, Ultimate Pizza Guide, Pizza King in Sussex County, Frederica Pizza

A Note on the September Issue

My life is not complete without my Delaware Today, and although I am an Internet junkie, I am thrilled every month when my print copy comes in the mail.

Your publication is always filled with quality articles and interesting events involving Delaware. Because your writers and staff are so involved in the community, your magazine reflects that deep, personal interest.

“Why Women Earn Less Than Men…Still” was very well written, and awareness is the first step in correcting this discrepancy. Tackling social inequities can be unpopular, so I applaud you for featuring it.

Mark Nardone’s article, “Remembering 9/11,” spurred me through every emotion possible, and although sobbing through it, yes, I want to remember for the sake of all who lost someone important that day.

But the balance is appreciated, too. Where should I eat, what is happening at the beach, what events are coming up, what’s going on in Delaware’s arts and culture scene?

So thank you for keeping us entertained, enlightened and informed.
Best regards,

One Bad Egg

Just got done reading page 12 of the August issue’s response from a reader who was attempting to hook up with one of Delaware Today’s 18 Super Singles and was turned down three times. Her last remark was “If Bachelor X represents the best Delaware has to offer, then I say, ‘No thank you.’”

Well, I would hate to see that people are left with a bad taste in their mouth about every single person in Delaware.

After working for the State of Delaware to represent the finest that Delaware has to offer in its services and people, I really hate to see someone getting treated like this, after the magazine was nice enough to publish him. Bachelor X doesn’t deserve to be published again. It would have been further noble of him, if he had just showed up, whether interested or not, to have lunch, dinner—whatever—and to have been hospitable while leaving on a good note.

Delaware does have the finest there is to offer! Lacey Lafferty, Laurel

About That Pizza Feature…

So, I purchased “The Ultimate Pizza Guide” and am very disheartened to see that Pizza King was not listed in the article. It has been a southern Delaware staple since 1978. Every time we visit family downstate, we stop at one of the Pizza Kings to bring pizza home to Wilmington, as no other pizzeria, by far, compares. It appears as if the only research that went into this article was done in Wilmington, at the beaches, and spots hit en route. Where is the love for the inlanders?

Hey! Where is Frederica Pizza on this list (featured in the August issue)? It is the best pizza in Delaware. As someone born and raised in New York City, I’m a pizza snob. I never thought pizza outside the city was good enough. Then I tasted Frederica’s “Traditional New York Style” pizza and it’s better than any pizza I’ve ever had. They also make a terrific vegetable panini. Delaware is filled with many hidden treasures and Frederica Pizza is one of them.
