Renée Piane, a Wilmington native and Ursuline Academy graduate, has a gift. She understands the powerful, often confusing feeling of human love. An author and dating coach who pioneered Rapid Dating, she has spent two decades crafting healthy relationships for singles across the world through group classes, personal coaching and more.
“I was a licensed cosmetologist and successful hairdresser,” Piane says. “People would open their hearts and share their troubles with me.” The support and advice Piane would offer led her to pursue a career as a love designer.
In her newest book, “Get Real About Love,” she provides a detailed curriculum for busy adults to follow as they search, find and nurture themselves and subsequent romantic relationships.
“This book is for anybody,” Piane says, “for those who are either breaking up, shaken up or waking up.”
After several heartbreaks stemming from her own failed relationships, the passing of her mother and a health crisis that threatened her own life, Piane had “enough wake-up calls for a lifetime.” Later Piane would follow her own advice and marry her soul mate, Joe Campanella, also a native Delawarean, in her 40s.
“Get Real About Love” details the serendipitous circumstances surrounding their spark-filled meeting in Dewey Beach and long-term success as a couple as they moved to California.
Piane describes the lessons in her latest book as candid and honest. “This book is real, and it is raw. I don’t hold back. I hold the reader’s hand throughout the chapters and encourage them to take time out to make the most important decision of their life.” “Get Real About Love” can be purchased through Amazon or at reneepiane.com.
