The Green Show at Christ Church Christiana Hundred is a giant Christmas bazaar, but it’s also much more than that! It’s an event that kicks off the Christmas season and gives back to the community like no other. Christ Church supports the important work of more than 30 Wilmington non-profit agencies, distributing all Green Show proceeds to organizations dedicated to addressing the issues of poverty in the community. The organizations include Urban Promise, the Cathedral Choir School and Friendship House Ministries. Anyone who is looking for a joyful shopping experience that benefits the community should attend.
The Green Show is truly a multi-generational event, and everyone in the Greater Wilmington community is invited. There is no entrance fee. Visitors can purchase a variety of fresh-cut Christmas greens or decorated wreaths, and select from an array of seasonal food items, as well as new and gently used gifts. Especially for kids: Santa will arrive at 10 a.m. on the Winterthur fire truck. (His sleigh and reindeer are not available until Christmas Eve).
Doors open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. A luncheon will be served beginning at 11 a.m. All activities take place in the Christ Church Parish Center. Plenty of parking is available. Christ Church Christiana Hundred is at 505 East Buck Road, Greenville, 19807. (East Buck Road intersects Route 100, behind the Hagley Museum.)
