Today Media Thanks Frontline Workers and Supports Local Restaurants

The Delaware Delivers for Heroes program continues through generosity and support from readers.

Readers of Delaware Today and Delaware Business Times have continued to show their generosity and support for frontline workers through Delaware Delivers for Heroes.

The two publications, part of Today Media, created the program in April to support our state’s restaurant community while acknowledging those who have worked tirelessly to care for Delawareans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Readers made donations and nominated groups they felt deserved recognition at delawaredeliversforheroes.com.

In the latest round of presentations, Delaware Delivers for Heroes purchased gift cards of $50 each from Big Fish Restaurant Group, presented to Peninsula Veterinary Services in Millsboro; from V&M Bistro in Wilmington, presented to Westside Family Healthcare in Wilmington; and from Stone Balloon Ale House in Newark, part of High 5 Hospitality, presented to Cranston Heights Fire Company in Wilmington.

“Unfortunately, the need for this program continues as we see new challenges from the COVID-19 crisis affecting both our healthcare and restaurant communities,” says Michael Reath, publisher of Delaware Today and Delaware Business Times. “We are thankful for all the support that makes it possible to purchase and award these meals across the state.”

Gift card purchases will continue until all contributions are exhausted. To contribute to Delaware Delivers for Heroes or to nominate a group or individual for a gift card, visit delawaredeliversforheroes.com.
