“These were designed to make everyone feel seen, heard and empowered on the court.”
Elena Delle Donne
“My sister Lizzy is my biggest inspiration,” Delle Donne says. “She has cerebral palsy and autism and is deaf and blind, so I wanted to ensure that we were developing an inclusive shoe that makes sport accessible for all.” Nike’s online description of the design explains the accessibility feature: “Inspired by Elena’s disabled older sister, Lizzie, the innovative FlyEase design features a collapsible heel and an upper that opens wide for easy entry. Step in, press the Velcro Ease strap to secure and go.”
“These were designed to make everyone feel seen, heard and empowered on the court,” Delle Donne says.
Sure, they won’t make you a two-time league MVP like Delle Donne, but check out the Nike Air Deldon Lymes at nike.com anyway.
