Christina Deidesheimer worked hard to be promoted to Beebe Healthcare’s vice president of communications. She just didn’t think it’d happen in the middle of a pandemic. But in June, Deidesheimer was tapped for the executive role at Beebe, one of the largest healthcare systems in Delaware.
Now, Deidesheimer oversees all of Beebe’s communications, including those with the medical staff and community partners. Relying on technology tools and daily huddles, Deidesheimer and her six-person team issue information that is backed by science and government authorities.
Deidesheimer says she’s learned a lot from the 2020 whirlwind: Trust your team, maintain agility, keep planning for the future and remember to check in with your mentors. “I’ve had amazing mentors who were honest with me, gently pushing me forward and telling me what I didn’t want to hear,” she says. “Because of that, I came to this COVID crisis thinking that I could handle anything.”
