Where to Grab a Drink in Delaware

Hummingbird to Mars in Trolley Square is Carnazza’s go-to for a cozy speakeasy vibe. For beer enthusiasts, she praises the incredible beer selection at Historic New Castle’s Jessop’s Tavern. If you’re on the hunt for a classic martini and other upscale cocktails, Carnazza recommends Bar Reverie in Greenville. She praises not only the cocktails and food, but also the vibe and special events like upscale movie nights complete with wine and popcorn.

For a lively college drinking scene (which Carnazza jokingly describes as “feral”), head to Deer Park Tavern and indulge in plentiful drink specials, cocktails, beer, shots, and an extensive food menu to complement the drinks.

Where to Dine in Delaware

When it comes to dining in Delaware, options are plentiful—and Carnazza loves a little of everything! From fine dining to a low-key diner meal, she recommends Delawareans and visitors alike take advantage of all the incredible local restaurants.

For a great fine dining experience in Wilmington, Carnazza’s top picks are Snuff Mill on Concord Pike and Vincente’s on Kirkwood Highway. If you’re looking for a casual diner to indulge in breakfast, burgers, and milkshakes, Carnazza recommends both the Brandywine Diner and the iconic Charcoal Pit.

La Parrillada is her go-to for birria and other Mexican-inspired dishes. Meanwhile, Surf Bagel serves up her favorite beach breakfast. With a new location in Middletown, Surf Bagel makes it easy to grab breakfast in New Castle County, too. For a convenient fast-casual meal, Carnazza recommends heading to the nearest El Diablo Burritos or PureBread Deli location.

Where to Relax and Unwind in Delaware

As a mother and content creator, Carnazza has a busy schedule. She heads to a few local self-care hotspots to relax and unwind. She recommends TLz Nail Spa for nails and The Rooted Mane for hair. For an infrared sauna and cold plunge experience, Carnazza recommends the Sweathouz in Wilmington.

Where to Learn in Delaware

Delaware’s museums are hubs for local culture and history. Carnazza’s list of must-visit museums includes the Delaware Art Museum, the Delaware Museum of Nature and Science, and the Hagley Museum & Library. She also loves spending time in Old New Castle for historic fun and colonial architecture.

Where to Play in Delaware

Carnazza boasts the description of “cool mom” in her Instagram bio, so it’s safe to say she knows the top spots for all-ages fun in the First State. She recommends the Delaware Children’s Museum for educational fun and Sun Outdoors Rehoboth for summertime fun with the whole family. In Middletown, Birdies Links & Drinks offers a golf experience including simulators, lessons, and mini golf. With a full bar and food menu, it’s also a great spot to grab a bite or specialty cocktail.

For a family night out packed with fun activities, Carnazza’s list includes Vince’s Sports Center in Newark, Wilma’s in Wilmington, Main Event in Christiana, and Lefty’s in Lewes (with a second location at The Grove in Newark coming soon).

Carnazza maintains that these picks are just the beginning of what Delaware has to offer. “I feel like there are so many more I want to mention,” she says. If you want to keep up with all her favorite spots to dine, drink, learn, and unwind, follow @jaymiknowsfun on Instagram.
