Just as grapevines grow, so has Sposato Family Vineyard. Karen Howard Sposato is a co-owner of the vineyard with business partner Tony Sposato.
After 25 years running Sposato Landscape Co. in Milton, they decided to venture into the winemaking business, spending six years researching, studying and visiting Argentina and ultimately purchasing land in the heart of the South American nation’s wine country.
“We did this from the ground up,” Sposato says. Sposato says purchasing land and building a vineyard in another country was a gamble, but with the right connections they’ve been able to learn and succeed in the business.
She says if an endeavor isn’t your passion, it will be hard to succeed. “We really put our heart and soul into this,” she says, noting that continuing to learn about winemaking and surrounding herself with like-minded people helps make the family’s dreams a reality. “The spark is what you have to have,” she says.
