Director, Cover & Rossiter
Myunghee Geerts has a knack for making taxes exciting. A CPA with 15 years of public accounting experience, Geerts is the director of Cover & Rossiter’s tax department. She also leads the firm’s Growth Management Consulting initiative.
A champion of the community, she sits on the boards of the Delaware Bioscience Association and the Delaware Korean American Association, and she’s also served on the boards of the Delaware Society of CPAs and the Delaware Symphony Orchestra.
Geerts’ father was an entrepreneur, and from a young age she observed what it takes to operate a small business. This personal knowledge of business operations combined with her expertise in applying tax code has resulted in a lifelong passion for helping businesses prosper.
Geerts specializes in research and development tax credit, which remains one of the best opportunities for businesses to substantially reduce their tax liability. “My goal is really to give back to the community by encouraging and educating them to learn more about the R&D tax credit and encouraging them to claim the credit so that they can find additional resources that they can invest into their businesses,” she says.
Geerts owes her success to her mentors, and that she wants to continue to be successful for her 11-year-old daughter to show that women can be great leaders in their professional fields.
