After a 2019 wedding, the new coronavirus put Hadley Elizabeth Southall Roach and Matthew Hummon Westman’s honeymoon on hold.

Hadley Elizabeth Southall Roach and Matthew Hummon Westman of Middletown met in 2012 in Madaba-Manja, Jordan, while teaching there. The two bonded over a love of travel, adventure and books, and after four years of friendship were penning their next chapter: a wedding in August 2019 at St. Andrew’s School, where Hadley’s father serves as the head of school and her mother is dean of teaching and learning.

“It was incredibly special to be able to share the school with all of our loved ones,” Matt says. “The beautiful campus allowed everyone to come together for two full days of sports, food, conversation and celebration.” They were supposed to honeymoon in Italy this season but have had to shift plans because of the novel coronavirus. “We love to travel and are looking forward to the honeymoon whenever it happens!”
