Ajit Mathew George: “It is with great sadness and at the same fondness that as the organizer of TEDxWilmington, I share this amazing TEDxWilmington talk given to a sold out audience by Chef Matt Haley just two weeks ago at the World Cafe Live at The Queen a day or two before he left to India where he died in a fatal motorcycle accident. I had organized TEDxWilmington 2014 around Matt’s stravel schedule and I am so glad I did. I encourage you to watch this video and share it on your timeline as he clearly explains why each of us like him had a purpose in life. This talk is most likely one of the last videos featuring Matt. At the very end of this talk, Matt talks about taking a young girl who he met the day before TEDxWilmington to the beach as she had never been to the beach and having to cancel his appointments for the rest of the day. He was scheduled to join several TEDxWilmington speakers including Chef Otto Borsich, Patrick Lloyd and Mary Beth Minton plus Liane Hansen, Sarah Brown, Kip Poole, Lisa Marchlik Lloyd, Laura Stimson and Meera Gandhi for a dinner at Obis One, LLC on Tuesday night before TEDx and he called me to ask for a rain check. He had a higher purpose in life as he explains in this video that day. If you are like me, you will need tissues. Thank you to Matt Urbanand Joe del Tufo and the entire team at Möbius New Media for doing a fantastic job of video this and all the other TEDxWilmington talks.”
