Spring just feels like the natural time to give your home a little refresh. With spring cleaning and organizing at the forefront of our minds, and new beginnings on the horizon, revamping our home décor just feels right. As all homeowners know, the refresh costs can add up—quickly. Here, Kelley Gable, owner and principal designer of Gable Interiors, offers us her top five tips for the kind of spring refresh that doesn’t require a full interior re-do.

1. Throw in a Pop of Color

Throw pillows are an incredible way to give your living space a spring refresh without over-investing in new furnishings. Our tried and true formula when it comes to layering throw pillows is one neutral or solid color, one floral and one stripe. Try to keep all three within the same color palette for a dynamic yet cohesive look.

2. Rise & Shine

Swapping out your bedding, or even just your duvet, for spring can lighten up your bedroom instantly — try soft cotton or linen textiles in lighter tones. One of our favorites is this one from Pottery Barn.

3. April Showers Bring May Flowers

Florals for spring just makes sense! We love to bring the outside in with fresh spring flowers or a new houseplant to breathe new life into a space. Looking for a new vase? We love these from McGee & Co.

4. Simplify Spring Cleaning

While doing spring cleaning, we always like to find ways to declutter the home’s problem areas. A great way to do that is to invest in storage solutions that are not only functional but are visually appealing. Some of our favorites are these baskets with lids, which we’ve found work great for throw blankets, toy storage, books and more.

5. Deck It Out

As the days become longer and more time is spent outdoors, an amazing way to refresh your home for spring is by investing in outdoor décor that will last you multiple seasons without breaking the bank. Think lighting — like these incredible string lights — that will create the perfect ambiance for evenings spent outdoors with friends and family.
