Sprouts Farmers Market in Wilmington is opening its doors soon.
The new grocery store will open at 4801 Concord Pike, on March 11. The more than 30,000 square-foot store will be the first Sprouts in the state, and offers access to affordable, healthy choices.
“The Wilmington Sprouts marks the newest location in our eastern expansion and follows the tremendous success of our nearby Philadelphia store,” said Dan Croce, Senior Vice President of Store Operations, in a news release. “We’re looking forward to serving our new neighbors in Wilmington and nearby Chester and Delaware Counties with healthy groceries at great prices.”
On grand opening morning, shoppers will have the chance to meet Danny Seo, natural living expert and Emmy Award-winning host of NBC’s Naturally, Danny Seo, who will be giving the first 100 customers gift bags loaded with better-for-you grocery and wellness products valued at $200.
“For all three seasons of my TV show, there was only one store where we shopped for the best produce and ingredients to make everything– Sprouts!” Seo said, in a news release. “Part of me always felt like the store was made just for me: an open concept that makes navigating a breeze, a huge bulk section where I can save money and cut back on packaging waste, and perhaps the best wellness section full of my go-to supplements and personal care items. And now a brand-new Sprouts is opening up right in my own backyard.”
Sprouts, which is one the fastest-growing companies in the country, is known for its store layout inspired by farmers markets which features fresh produce at the center of the store, an expansive bulk foods section and an extensive vitamin department focused on wellness.
To celebrate the grand opening Wilmington store, Sprouts is giving away a classic beach cruiser to inspire guest to get outside and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Customers can enter to win through March 10 by visiting sprouts.com/wilmington.
At the grand opening, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7 a.m. Following, customers can expect the giveaways below:
- The first 200 shoppers will receive 20 percent off of their initial total purchase.
- The first 100 shoppers will receive a gift bag of natural products from Danny Seo, worth more than $200.
- Every customer on grand opening day will receive a free reusable bag with purchase.
As part of Sprouts’ commitment to “zero waste,” the new store will donate unsold and edible groceries to the Food Bank of Delaware through the grocer’s Food Rescue program. In 2019, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 27 million pounds of product, equivalent to 23 million meals. Food that is not fit for donation is provided to local cattle farms and composting facilities. Sprouts’ evolving “zero waste” initiatives help minimize food waste while reducing the impact of hunger and the company’s environmental footprint, according to a news release.
