StretchPlex uses a variety of one-on-one wellness services to help people achieve their greatest level of physical mobility.
If you’ve been feeling less mobile in the past couple of years, you’re not alone. That’s why two Delaware residents created StretchPlex.
Many adults—both young and old—came out of the pandemic lockdowns feeling out of shape. This is especially true for high-risk individuals who continue to make an effort to stay indoors and out of public spaces when possible. It’s easy to forget the types of activity your body needs in order to maintain peak wellness and physical ability.
“This really did come as a product of the pandemic,” explains Matt Phifer, COO of StretchPlex. “People didn’t know if they could go outside to exercise and found that they had lost a lot of mobility.”
He and Steve Rapposelli—the CEO of Performance Physical Therapy and now StretchPlex—came up with a solution: assisted stretching.
Assisted stretching is like yoga, except a certified professional is there to help. A “Stretching Specialist” is a highly trained expert who knows how to stretch your body farther and safer than you could on your own.
But that’s not all StretchPlex has to offer. Through a unique blend of services—assisted stretching, therapeutic massage, personal training and compression therapy—the company helps people throughout the Northern Delaware area achieve their fitness, wellness and mobility goals. StretchPlex offers all of these services under one roof with professionals you can trust.
“All our Stretching Specialists are certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine,” Phifer explains. “They all have a Stretching and Flexibility certification.”
These certified professionals work to perfectly tailor sessions to each individual based on their wellness goals and needs. No two sessions are exactly the same. To focus on fitness, personal training can help improve strength and cardiovascular health. Assisted stretching helps with mobility. Massage therapy helps with aches and pains and promotes overall wellness. These are services that would typically require multiple memberships and multiple facilities. StretchPlex is a one-stop shop for wellness with locations around Northern Delaware.
“I was born and raised in Delaware,” Phifer says. “Anything I can do to help the people in my community feel better…that’s really the mission of StretchPlex.”
