The name of Stuart and Suzanne Grant’s philanthropic endeavor says it all: I Could Do Great Things Foundation.
The couple set up a $1 million endowment to encourage and fund innovative community-based projects with a nonprofit or charitable purpose. Stuart Grant, co-founder and managing director of Grant & Eisenhofer P.A. in Wilmington, says the nonprofit was launched about a year ago and has already funded a number of projects.
The foundation hopes to give between $50,0000 and $100,000 each year in seed money to help the initiatives get off the ground.
“We’re looking for people with creative ideas—well thought-out projects that do great things,” Grant says. “We really want people to find their community’s needs and address those needs. We’ll measure the foundation’s success based on the success of each project.” (icoulddogreatthings.org) —D.O.
