Style Profile of Delaware Photographer Laura Novak: Who Wears J Brand jeans, Diane von Furstenberg wedges, Olga Ganoudis jewelery and likes designers Milly and Rebecca Taylor and shops at Skirt, Peter Kate and H&M

When it comes to style, this photog gets the picture.

Laura Novak’s style is uniquely her own. The Boston-raised photographer has spent the past 10 years taking photographs of sports celebs, socialites and families.

Novak founded Laura Novak Photography in 2000, attracting such clients as NFL and MLB players, as well as other celebrities.

Novak is as stylish as the people she photographs. Her go-to wardrobe essentials include dresses, great shoes and fabulous accessories. She’s dressed in white J Brand jeans, a leather cut-out top and Diane von Furstenberg wedges. The pearl necklace is by Olga Ganoudis.

“I like to buy handmade items and local whenever possible,” Novak says. “I also love throwback designers like Milly and soft, feminine designers like Rebecca Taylor.”

This woman breaks boundaries—and sometimes, rules. To her, style is not about trends or the latest fad. It’s an evolution, something acquired or collected. It’s not just things, but experiences, passions and life events.

Getting the shot is everything in the fashion world—something Novak understands. Her ability to capture the human spirit earned her national recognition from Eastman Kodak and praise in numerous publications.

She is blessed with what her husband, John, calls “the personality of a heroine.” She’s driven by a quiet determination and a balanced lifestyle.

Novak’s life is as vibrant as the photos she produces. Her business takes her from New York to Jamaica and back to Delaware in any given week. When she does shop locally, she heads to Skirt, Peter Kate, H&M, and vintage shops.
