Thanks for Piece on Classical Christian Education

History of Rehoboth Beach Patrol was spot on for many.

Beach Reads

As an old hand at the beach—beach boy in ’58-’59, Rehoboth Beach Patrol ’60-’61—I really enjoyed the tale of old Rehoboth (“The History Lesson,” August). There are probably a thousand more apocryphal stories like it. Keep them coming. It was one of the best pieces ever in DT. —Dick Pack, Lewes

Classical Christian Education

I enjoyed your publisher note and article on classical Christian education in this past issue of Delaware Today (“From Tiny Acorns,” August), and I wanted to write to thank you. Mr. Nardone has a gift with the written word and was able to both capture and articulate the Tall Oaks culture remarkably well.

I live in one of the best public school districts in Pennsylvania (Garnet Valley). Yet, I send my child and my tuition dollars to Tall Oaks in Delaware. My motive for doing so is selfish. I want the best for my child. I know he is loved at Tall Oaks, he is getting a world-class education, and he is building upon a strong Christian foundation that will sustain him for the rest of his life.

Also, Mr. Martinelli (From the Publisher, page 8) rightly pointed out that the classical model of education and religious freedom has stood the test of time. It is my shared desire to see more in this great nation learn from its past, and from what Tall Oaks is doing, and return to what works. —James Munson, president, Enable SAP LLC, Enable Your Enterprise LLC

From Facebook – (“Crime Buster,” August)

I am so proud of my brother (Col. Elmer Setting, New Castle County chief of police) that I can’t find the words to describe it. But I can tell you one thing: My dad, James J. Setting, has all the buttons popped on his shirt as he smiles from heaven above. —Catherine Morgan, Wilmington
