Egg hunts and train rides at Auburn Heights

Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31, noon–3 p.m.

Search for eggs on the grounds surrounding the Auburn Heights mansion. Enjoy train rides, free popcorn and other kids activities. The hunt begins at 1 p.m. and is divided by age groups. The event costs $10 per person and is limited to the first 200 entrants each day. All attendees must have a ticket.

Bellevue Bunny Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 24, 1–2 p.m.

Children ages 2-8 are invited to hunt for Bellevue bunny eggs the weekend before Easter. The egg hunt begins behind the Arts Center. Registration costs $6 and closes March 22. Call 761-6963 to register.

Easter Bunny Express

Departure dates: March 24, 25, 30 and 31
​Departure times: 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

On this 90-minute train ride to Ashland Nature Center, children can get their picture taken with the Easter bunny. Tickets cost $19 for adults, $18 for seniors and $17 for children 2-12 (children under two are free). Hop aboard.

Easter Egg Hunt at Cape Henlopen State Park

Friday, March 30, 11 a.m.

Downstate, children ages 3 and up are invited to an egg hunt on Cape Henlopen State Park’s Parade Field. The event is free. Parking is available at the Beach Bathhouse area and shuttle transportation to the field is provided. Families are asked to arrive by 10 a.m.

Stick around after the egg hunt for Cape Henlopen State Park’s egg toss. See how far you and a partner can toss an egg without dropping it and letting it crack. The event is free.

Newark Parks and Rec Annual Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 24, 10–11:30 a.m.

The city of Newark hosts its annual egg hunt at White Clay Creek State Park for children capable of walking to age nine. The event is free, but the state park’s entry fees are in effect ($4 in-state and $8 out-of-state). Families are asked to bring their own basket or bag for egg hunting.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal

Saturday, March 31, 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Catch the ferry on either side of the Bay for an Easter buffet, egg hunt and Bunny meet-and-greet on the water. The buffet, which offers breakfast favorites such as pancakes, eggs and tater tots, has two seatings (9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.) available for reservation by calling (800) 643-3779. Reserve a time online to skip the line to meet the Easter Bunny outside of JCPenney in the Christiana Mall. Reservations can be made here. The Bunny will be at the mall daily through the end of March.
