THE SCOOP: If you’ve had a tough week, just sitting on your own private porch overlooking the Delaware River at this gracious bed-and-breakfast, tucked away in the beautiful Bucks County, Pa., countryside, is enough to melt away the stress. The quietly elegant ambience also makes it the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. And if you can tear yourself away from all that serenity, the shopping and other attractions of New Hope and Lambertville, Pa., are less than a half-hour away.
AMENITIES: A number of the rooms and suites have screened porches with river views; some have fireplaces. If you want these amenities plus a whirlpool tub, ask for the Delaware or River Suites. Small dogs are welcome at the Boat House cottage. All overnight stays include multicourse breakfast, afternoon tea with sweet and savory treats, and evening sherry. For an extra $15, you can have your breakfast served in bed or on your private porch.
