For many people, the most harrowing part of parenthood is when little ones are sick. In a normal scenario, mom or dad must take off work, call the daycare or school about the absence, and then call the pediatrician in hopes that the office will have an available slot for an appointment. It’s never fun to load up a sick child, drive to the doctor’s office, and hang out in a waiting room (often a hotbed of germs from other sick kids) before finally seeing the nurse or doctor. If there are other siblings, this only adds to the chaos and increased spread of infection. These logistical challenges are on top of stress and worry about the child’s health, and they have increased in the current COVID environment.
100% of the Visits are in the Comfort of Your Home
Dr. Aravinda Ayyagari, a local pediatrician who serves the Brandywine Valley area, established Bridge Care Pediatrics (BCP) to provide a new approach to care for your children: house calls. This brings the highest quality care straight to you, in the comfort of your own home 100% of the time.
BCP is a membership-based, house call practice. Direct Primary Care is a model of healthcare that puts patients first. It is just your family and your doctor working together collaboratively. Dr. Ayyagari explains that, “This means I work for you, not for insurance companies or large hospital systems. Just you. This is modern medicine combined with the classic dedication your grandparents remember.”
Dr. Ayyagari’s Vision – Pediatrics Reimagined
Dr. Ayyagari is a board-certified pediatrician with nearly 20 years of experience and is fluent in both Spanish and English. She has been in private practice in Media and has worked as a pediatric hospitalist at Christiana Hospital. For the last 13 years, she has worked for Nemours, Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, in an outpatient practice in North Wilmington. Dr. Ayyagari said that, “Coming from a busy outpatient practice with thousands of patients, I always wished I could offer more to my patients and their families. While I have valued all my professional experiences, I believed it was time to practice medicine the way I have envisioned.”
Today’s pediatric care is often inflexible, confusing, and not transparent. By removing the administrative burden and keeping the practice small, Bridge Care Pediatrics delivers an experience so personal you cannot imagine your children being cared for any other way. Dr. Ayyagari said she believes in taking time to listen and understand your family’s specific needs, so she can provide the type of care we all deserve. She notes, “I have established Bridge Care Pediatrics on three pillars – safety, convenience, and personalization.”
